Children/Adolescents.

About the program:

This interactive workshop allows participants a hands on experience as they learn the dynamic Oaklander Model of play therapy through demonstrations and direct work with clay, drawings, and projective cards.

The Oaklander Model is a Gestalt approach to play therapy. This highly creative and effective model prioritizes the therapist/client relationship and is focused on honoring the child’s process rather than interpreting behaviors.

While a foundation in Gestalt Play Therapy is not necessary, Gestalt Columbus will happily make reading recommendations for interested parties.

Breakdown of each day:

DAY ONE:

Continuing Education (CE):

18 CE credits for LPC, LPCC(S), LSW, LISW(S)
The State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board grants Gestalt Columbus approved provider status to provide continuing education for Counselors and Social Workers.

The Association for Play Therapy (APT) has approved 18 CE credits toward the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential.

About the Presenter:

Lynn Stadler, MA, MFT is a Gestalt psychotherapist and licensed Marriage Family
Therapist in private practice in Santa Barbara, California. She holds a Master of Arts in
Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. She is also a graduate of the Santa Barbara
Gestalt Training Center, and she completed intensive training with the Violet Oaklander
Institute.
Lynn is a founding member of the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation (www.vsof.org),
a non-profit corporation created to further the work of Dr. Oaklander, eminent child and
adolescent psychotherapist and trainer, and author of Windows to Our Children,
and Hidden Treasure: A Map to the Child’s Inner Self. Lynn is co-founder of the
Oaklander.org training program. She provides workshops, seminars, and training for
social service agencies, universities and other teaching organizations worldwide — most
recently in Santa Barbara, Malibu, San Francisco, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic,
Lithuania, Brazil, Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia and Russia.

About the Location:

The Hands on Art Barn in Galena, Ohio is located just 10 min from Polaris Fashion Place and Westerville and 15 min from Worthington with plenty of places nearby for a lunch break. Coffee and Bagels will be provided daily and a catered lunch will be provided on the final day to be shared on the beautiful grounds at the Hands on Art Barn.
