Authentic Dating: Healing and Moving on from Unhealthy Relationships
Wednesday, June 26, 2019
6:30-8:00 p.m.

Putting ourselves out there after being in an unhealthy relationship is daunting. Before starting to date again or when trying to settle into a new relationship, many people experience symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (recurring distressing memories, dreams, flashbacks). Just when we think we’re “over it,” symptoms can pop up again, and even again. This is painful and does not have to continue.

When we are ready to date again, being vulnerable, trusting another person, and trusting ourselves can be very difficult. This workshop will be an ideal opportunity to learn how to work toward dating again, cope through the healing process, and not feel so alone in your struggles.

Topics Addressed:
-Learning to trust your instincts, instead of second guessing yourself.
-Building compassion for yourself, instead of falling into a shame spiral of self-blame.
-Opening yourself up to others and choosing who you open up to.
-Learning what a healthy relationship looks like.
-Identifying and sharing what you want and need in a relationship.
-Setting your limits and your boundaries.
-Examining and exploring online dating and other ways to meet someone.
-Healing when you feel broken.
-Breaking unhealthy relationship patterns.
-Meshing and molding…how NOT to do this.

Authentic Dating: Dating Sucks and I Want to Find Love
Wednesday, July 31, 2019

6:30-8:00 p.m.

It’s so easy to get discouraged, fed up, annoyed, and disillusioned with the dating process. Pressure about figuring out how to meet someone or experiencing too many dating failures can contribute to the latter. Staying home curled up on the couch with a can of Pringles watching Netflix oftentimes feels more worthwhile than facing another let-down or the anxiety of meeting someone new. And then there’s that wave of longing – “I want to find my person.” Love.

So how do we battle the anxieties, fears, and annoyances of dating?

Topics will include:
-Explore ways in which you might be sabotaging your dating life.
-Connect with others about the frustrations, joys, and opportunities of dating and being single.
-Learn how to date smart.
